Shelby is an approx. 6 year old female that looks very much like a Border Collie with gorgeous blue eyes...she weighs 35 pounds and I have owned her for nearly four years.
She was literally a 'street dog' in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico when I first saw her; living under a rock ledge with six puppies. After two weeks of taking food and water to her, I brought her and the smallest puppy home with me fully intending to have her adopted since I already owned two Westies. She was a wonderful pet from the beginning, so when I left Mexico and moved to Bradenton in Winter of 2010, I brought her, along with the Westies, in the car with me.
Now I'm moving to a condo in order to take care of my elderly parents and there are weight restrictions for pets and she exceeds the 25 pound limit. If not for this, I would not be putting her up for adoption.
She loves to chase squirrels, run in her backyard, and go for walks. She is nicely protective of me and the house. She is great with my Westies but she is leash aggressive towards other dogs when out on a walk. She has not been around cats nor dogs so I don't know how she would do with either. Probably better with kids than cats.
She doesn't jump up on you nor lick you. She is quiet and a bit shy. She does shed, but that is the worse thing I can say about her.
