Oinga was abandoned by her owner and left with a person who neither wanted her nor cared about her welfare. She was confined to a porch without AC and more importantly without companionship. The caretaker eventually surrendered Oinga to For Paws Hospice.
She is an American Staffordshire Terrier, 12 years old, 80 lbs and up to date on shots including rabies. Over the last several months in her previous situation Oinga developed a skin condition probably induced by anxiety; she scratched incessantly, her skin became sore and raw and she began to lose her hair. That process has reversed itself with antibiotics and an improved diet. Her veterinarian is confident now that she will recover completely.
At some time in the past she had a family and now seems happy just as she is. Oinga is afraid of other dogs, wary of cats and would be ideally adopted into a one animal home. She instantly bonds with people and becomes very loyal, She has some training and responds to usual commands.
This beautiful big hearted dog is extremely intelligent. Her only desire is to be part of a loving family in a permanent home; she is housebroken and must be an indoor pet - Oinga has her own mattress and linens by the way.
