Emmitt is one of those dogs who loves being a dog. A dog who wants and loves to be with his owner. Don’t dress him up, don’t slobber him with kisses, and don’t expect him to do things that you think are cute. He’s a dog. He’ll be your faithful companion; he’ll get along with any other dogs you have (he loves hanging with puppies); he won’t mess up your house – and he’ll challenge you to countless games of tug-of-war. (Yes, we know that’s not a good thing for shelter dogs to do, but it’s one thing he does better than any other dog).
He loves his crate, but doesn’t like to be closed up in it all day – and really doesn’t like to be forced into it. He’s better with woman than men, but he’s great with the guys who work here – so it’s really a matter of gaining his trust. He needs to be in an adult only home.
