Delilah is an awesome dog, loves everyone and very smart. However, over the last few weeks she has made it very clear that she is not happy at my house after 2 1/2 years. As of late she has broken out of her crate AND my house and has ran off for hours on end. I am terrified of her getting hit by a car, as she moves quickly and is all black.
Delilah needs a home where someone is home more often then I am (I work full time and I'm a student, plus I live alone). I do have a pet sitter that comes int the middle of the day, and I walk her morning and night. On weekends we play frisbee, which is her favorite!
Basically, I was wondering if you or anyone you know may have room in your/their heart and home for Delilah.
She is housebroken, spayed, knows basic commands, walks well on a leash, loves kids and people, likes indoor cats and dogs around her size.
She needs more than what I can offer her, and I feel awful about this. At this point I am concerned about her safety and happiness, and I know a situation with a person who is home more and has more room would be ideal. This situation is at a critcal stage, as the stress of her behavior is affecting my performance at work and school, and I hate the fact she is so unhappy. She deserves much more.
UPDATE: The owner has returned Delilah to Sarasota County Animal Services from where she adopted her. If interested in adopting Delilah, please call:
